James 4:4 (The Message)-You’re cheating on God. If all you want is your own way, flirting with the world every chance you get, you end up enemies of God and his way.
Each day we are afforded the opportunity to live is a day we must make decisions. Oftentimes we make decisions without even thinking about them like what to wear, eat, and even the route to work. This is because the level of these decisions have become routine and comfortable. There are some decisions, however, that we must take time to sit, pray and think about more than others. One of those decisions is friendship. Most of us can say that we have at least one friend that has been with us through thick and thin. Other friendships we have had to take time to develop. There is one friendship regarding each of us that God wants to know more about. That is our friendship with the world and worldly ideas and habits.
The state of this world is not new to God but new to us. With all that is happening around us, we must be careful not to allow it to overtake our relationship with God. Now this is not to say we can't enjoy life but it is to say that we must do it God's way. Now if you are not sure what that is....ask Him. Spend time with the Father and He will guide your steps, your thoughts and decisions. Yes, sometimes the world's way of living appears to be the most absolute fun you can have. Trust me when I tell you God's way lasts longer and allows you to have peace of mind. So......tomorrow when you wake up, try talking to Him before you talk to them.
Blessings!
